Developed jointly with researchers from several European countries, this article explores the different approaches to spatial planning and land-use management adopted by Spain, Greece, Poland and Portugal in response to the challenges caused by climate change. It also examines the systemic solutions found in these countries, discusses the role of classic and sectoral spatial planning instruments, and identifies the level of public authority responsible for the main territorial interventions.
